Dr. Ivanov received a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Structural Biology in 2011 from the University of Grenoble. He has been working in the research group of Pr. Marc Jamin at the Institute of Structural Biology, Grenoble, France. His work was focused on the structural and functional characterization of the replication and transcription complex of negative-strand RNA viruses (e.g. Vesicular Stomatitis Virus and Rabies virus) by using Neutron scattering techniques at Institute Laue Langevin (ILL) and X-ray crystallography at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). From 2012 to 2015 Dr. Ivanov has been working in the research group of Dr. Stephen Cusack at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Grenoble, France. His work focused on the structural and biophysical characterization of cellular receptors (Rig-I, LGP-2) bound to viral RNA promoter.
Since early 2016, Dr. Ivanov has been fully dedicated to ViRelieve management and fundraising. He is playing a central role in the creation of a consortium composed of 13 partners from public and private institutions from 7 EU member states with the main goal to develop drugs to treat human respiratory infections.
